Quality water safety courses and awards, from junior to diploma level.
The Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) has been saving lives for over 125 years. Today, the RLSS encompasses thousands of volunteers and millions of lifesavers in 33 Member Branches, including The Royal Life Saving Society New Zealand (RLSSNZ), working to eliminate drowning among the Commonwealth’s 2.2 billion people.
The RLSS is a global leader and partner in the delivery of water safety education and water rescue and resuscitation training.
The Society provides expertise in the development of community-based drowning prevention strategies, the design of lifesaving education programmes, and the establishment of aquatic safety standards.
Holders of the Bronze Medallion award are recognised worldwide as having gained a minimum standard as a qualified lifesaver.
The aim of the award is to develop the level of knowledge, judgement, technique and physical ability required to carry out safe water rescues.
